A resilient family is the best way to ensure kids grow into strong and healthy youth and adults. We offer family services and support to create resilience and establish this critical foundation.

Family Resource Network

Our two community hubs, known as the Trellis Commons, offer services for families with children from infants to 18-years-old.

We’re located in southwest Calgary and Strathmore and provide free services.

These range from family counselling to parenting programs, with a focus on creating nurturing and supportive environments for children and youth.

Housing Support

Trellis offers immediate, short-term help to families on the verge of homelessness or living in unsafe housing.

We also work with families living in shelter to find stable housing and ensure families can stay in one place by helping with complex needs like:

  • Poverty

  • Mental health factors

  • Addictions

  • Immigration barriers

Parenting Support

We work hard to nurture families so they can be resilient and navigate challenging times with confidence.

We help parents with challenges like:

  • Parent-teen conflict

  • Child behaviour

  • Blended family issues

  • Family violence

Foster Care

When children can’t stay in their family home, foster care gives them a nurturing and supportive place to live and learn new skills.

Our staff have years of experience in screening, training, and supporting foster families and we work hard to find the best fit for every child and family.

The ultimate goal is to support and prepare children as they transition to permanent homes.
